The First Randstad Submission Agency in the Netherlands

11 April 2024 is a historic day. The First Randstad Submission Agency is held in the Marcfait building, Almere, Netherlands. For the first time, Randstad opened a pop-up to help status holders get a speed date to find work in the Netherlands. It’s a collaboration between Randstad, COA, the municipality of Almere, and companies.

"The intention is to connect companies and status holders. We want to remove several blockages and accelerate certain processes so talented people can get started," says Managing Director Werner Klaassen of Randstad Netherlands. "And we want to invest in learning the Dutch language, education, and work."

This event was translated into English, Kurdish, and Arabic. Therefore, people used headsets, and the translator spoke simultaneously with the speakers. After the main session, people talk directly with the Randstad team in the small group.

Omid Jan Rasoli, account specialist at Randstad Netherlands, adds: “In 2021, my life suddenly changed drastically. I fled Afghanistan for a safe future for myself and my family. As a status holder, I know what it is like to arrive in the Netherlands after leaving everything you have built behind. You want to seize opportunities to move forward again. You want to feel accepted and useful; work is more than income. In Afghanistan, I laid the foundation for a great career in HR, but it can be challenging if you suddenly have to start over in another country. A personal approach and dialogue are then decisive. In conversation with a Randstad employee who worked from COA in Almere, we discovered new opportunities for me. Last autumn, I started as an account specialist at Randstad Netherlands. That is still a learning process today, but having that opportunity to discover and develop helps me work on a bright future in the Netherlands.”

This event will help more people, especially status holders, get jobs and have better lives in the Netherlands. At the same time, it is the answer to the extremely tight labor market.
